Captain Terence Armstrong, the driving force behind Net Results Sportfishing, is a seasoned veteran with over 38 years of experience navigating the Great Lakes. His journey began at the age of 11, fueled by an obsession with big-lake angling that has only grown stronger over the decades. Having grown up on the shores of Lake Michigan, Terry was inspired to become a guide by a simple, profound desire: to share his extensive knowledge and resources with others. For Terry, fishing is far more than a business; it is a lifelong passion rooted in the disciplined, service-oriented values he honed as a veteran of the United States armed forces. Today, he remains a pillar of the local angling community, serving as Vice President of the Muskegon Charter Boat Association and participating in the Armed Forces Salmon Assault. What truly sets a day on the water with Captain Terry apart is his commitment to an educational and high-energy experience. He finds his greatest reward not just in the harvest, but in the "Net Results" of a smile when a guest lands their very first catch. Terry’s guiding philosophy is centered on the joy of the sport—he genuinely loves watching his guests succeed and strives to make every trip as informative as possible. Whether he is explaining the nuances of the ecosystem or demonstrating a specific technical skill, his patient and approachable teaching style ensures that everyone from novices to fellow veterans feels confident and involved. To Terry, a successful day is one where the boat is filled with laughter, learning, and the excitement of the strike. Fishing out of Whitehall is a legendary experience because Lake Michigan offers a unique paradox: it is a freshwater inland sea with the characteristics of an open ocean, boasting some of the purest and cleanest water in the world. Captain Terry is a master of this environment, specifically the precision-based art of trolling. He meticulously tracks Salmon and Steelhead across vast thermal breaks, expertly managing boat speed, lure depth, and specialized attractors to keep his guests in the strike zone. His deep respect for these waters and his dedication to maritime safety provide a professional, low-stress atmosphere. This combination of technical mastery and a fun, easy-going demeanor reassures every guest that they are in the hands of an expert who knows these "sweetwater" seas inside and out.
Step Aboard "Fish Story": Our 31-foot Tiara Open
Your adventure takes place aboard the "Fish Story," a meticulously maintained 31-foot Tiara Open sportfisherman.
